Gandhigiri – Sunday in my city
Happy Birthday, Bapuji!
Happened to catch some Doordarshan this morning, but managed to miss the Rangoli (Sunday special program of film song videos). But managed to catch the next program with the evergreen Tabassum talking about the Mahatma. She chose to show Lage Raho Munnabhai (sequel to the popular Munnabhai MBBS). I didn’t really consider myself a fan of the movie, but this morning, it was fun to catch some excerpts from the movie. The dialogs were actually great to hear again. I might even enjoy seeing the movie again.
Here is a song I like in this film: (not the picturisation in the movie, but another YouTube user’s interpretation of the song. Loved the visuals.
Happy October 2!
And now, for some patriotic salad! Carrots, Onions and Coriander. I know the wheel is missing
I went a bit crazy this week with eight hour power cut, because of some emergency load shedding in our city. So – perhaps I ought to have been outside busy clicking away. I wish. It was a week of external site audits at work and school meetings. Very enjoyable, but I didn’t think you might want to see pictures of those. So I am showing you some pictures from our recent trip to Pune in Maharashtra.
The weather there was amazingly warm. To escape the heat, and to have lunch, we sneaked into a Mall and were thrilled with the air-conditioning. (It worked). After a leisurely lunch, we thought we’d window shop a bit. And here’s what we saw:
The store was closed. The mannequins took the day off to unwind.
So we set off on happier pursuits. We went to Sinhagad Fort – and met some friends along the way.
The trip was beautiful. Here are more pictures of this scenic place.
The way up:
I could gaze at this all day long, watching the shades of green change with the sunlight playing hide-and-seek
On top of the world:
We had a room with a view at the guest house we stayed in.
And now, let’s show Unknown Mami some love and also visit the other cities via her Sundays In My City initiative.
