The Haiku Challenge 2012

The Haiku Challenge 2012 – Day 17 – Waiting to Exhale

It is Day 17 and the prompt is “write a haiku inspired by the image below, for the theme “wait”‘
Waiting to exhale

Watching life stroll by
Perched on a flimsy platform
She awaits her future
The shutters are down
Together, they look forward
One more day will dawn

Written for The Haiku Challenge 2012 – Day 17 – February 17th – Theme or Word: Wait + Paint the Image

Wonder what she’s waiting for Vidya!

May be waiting for the shutter of the shop to open, may be waiting for the day to dawn and people to stop by and give them alms? Truly a picture to think deep about…

Dear Harleena, thanks for your comment. 🙂 I never thought about alms! I was imagining that she owned the shop and had closed for the day 😀 Hugs!

    Hi Vidya,

My gosh I have not written a Haiku since school days so it was wonderful to be re-acquainted with this beautiful poetry form by your equally beautiful offering.

Maybe she is simply waiting in joy? (en-joy)

Thank you for sharing this with us Vidya. 🙂
