The Dalai Lama says that we have a fundamental right to be happy – as individuals, within our family – and then – to live in a happy world. Our main goal in life must be – to work towards happiness.
Makes sense. I can’t think of too many people who would rather NOT be happy. :-).
Working towards happiness involves making minor adjustments to our attitude and the to the way we approach each day. This will make a huge difference, helping us appreciate life more. Maybe you won’t see a dramatically obvious change right away; but you will feel – and sense – the difference in practically everything.
You can use your creativity and awareness to make the moment at hand happier. Just look around you and appreciate – and the more often you do this, the faster will your world transform. Just remember to appreciate as frequently as possible.
Remember that there is no such thing as an unimportant day – because each day brings with it something to rejoice about. You just need to have the desire to identify and appreciate those moments of happiness that are right before us – every single day.
To know yourself and grow yourself, you need to develop your self-awareness, because therein lies the key to your happiness – and to a happier world.
Let this be one of our goals for 2009.
To new beginnings!
Cheers!
