As I spoon muesli into my system, reviewing my to-do list and dreaming of that toned butt, I am planning to try standing and working. This is inspired by a post on Zen Habits – at least, it has triggered action. I will now stand and deliver 🙂
I ‘ve been reading quite a bit about how sitting long hours can be harmful to health and the reasoning is perfectly logical.
I am experimenting with standing for an hour at a time. It feels good – and I haven’t experienced any fatigue yet. Perhaps it is because I also have a tailbone injury and it helps, because I am taking the pressure off my butt. As my orthopedic suggested, I sit leaning just a little forward when I do sit. When I ride my bike, I sit like a “20 year old desperate to make an impression”, as my doctor puts it. That man has a sense of humor.
Well, take a look at this infographic:

I am keeping track of this “sitting can kill you” stuff. Tell me what you know – and think?
