We’ve planned some good times ahead and kicked it off today by ordering lunch from outside, something we very rarely do on a Sunday. In fact, the only thing we order in is pizza occasionally. Because I love to cook. But today, we decided to try a new place on a neighbor’s recommendation and loved it. The food arrived, beautifully packed and HOT.
I also enjoyed a long bath this morning and am loving the fragrance of my shampoo which is like a halo around my head. Now, if only I could find the guts to cut my hair short! Sigh.
Let us get on with our photo journey, already! All are from my mobile phone camera.
See this sunset? It was largely responsible for keeping me sane during the last few days. Don’t laugh at this, but I’d get the feeling that the Universe was trying to talk to me, soothing me. See the sun’s rays? That’s the powerful inner voice, amplifying the message for all those who wish to hear.
And finally, there was a light drizzle. The sun won. And decided to treat us with another gorgeous sunset we would remember and take home with us.
Along with the work overload, I also managed to make it to the dentist last week, accompanying Sury who had a toothache. And these photos are from the dentist’s clinic’s yard in front, where we waited because it was cooler there than waiting in the lobby where it was warm. I love the variety spilling over in this patch!
Here’s a pot of basil – we call this “tulsi” – this plant, besides medicinal qualities, has religious significance and it is worshiped by Hindus.
This is part of a lonely plant perched in a pot on the wall at the clinic. I love the fresh shade of green. My first ever saree was this shade and made of chiffon.
I love this plant. The leaves are quite massive and look succulent. I wonder if it is a flowering plant. I’ll know, eventually as I’ll keep a watch each time I visit the dentist. This plant looks much nicer when it rains.
And this, dear friends, is my companion at home. Ms.Pigeon is curious, wondering what I am up to. The window is near the table where I sit to work. I hope she approves of how well we’ve cleaned the verandah so that she can go poop all over it. Bad girl!
Hmm. I have lovely memories of this set of curtains. My Mom and I were so excited to find three sets at our usual linen store and they fit our windows and doors in two rooms perfectly.
I am ready for the week ahead, friends. Are you?
Let’s head over to Unknown Mami’s now and pick up our itinerary to travel the world together – right from the comfort of our keyboards.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Cheers!
Vidya

Beautiful plants!
Oh yes, short hair is practical 🙂
Have a good week ahead!
hi BLOGitse – one of the happy things about our dentist is their cute and unruly garden that distracts me. Still oscillating over the short hair. Maybe I’ll just chop a few inches off. 😀 You have a wonderful week too! Thank you for visiting!
oh i loved this post! these pictures are beautiful vidya. bird poop, don’t remind me. i can’t tell you how much of it i cleaned this morning. we have two parakeets and hubby decided to let them free yesterday so they could fly around the pantry. blah. and then leave me to clean it up. bloody creep i tell u.
Ugh – I know. Especially when they wait for you to finish cleaning and then come sit there and shit. Eeks. Our verandah is large and they sit all over it. Rascals. At least I am talking about outside the house. I can imagine what it is like for you inside. Yikes. Hugs to you!
vidya, i left a comment, not sure if it went poof! don’t want to comment twice with the same comment, so let me know girl. hugs to you
😀 I’ve removed the word verification, so I moderate comments, Vani. 😀
I like those clouds gather light over the beautiful sky with delicious color. It is pure poetry. Greetings.
Greetings, Leovi. Nature really has no competition! 🙂 Thank you for your comment.
Your sunsets are gorgeous.
Thank you, Tara!
First, we’ve had some WILD storms here over the past few days too, and I’m very thankful for the CALM that has followed them today.
I’m talking literal thunder storms, though life is full of the figurative storm too sometimes.
I’m not laughing at your for thinking the sky is talking – – – we are told that “The Heaven’s DECLARE the glory of God.” So, they do talk, oh yes they do!
Dear Keetha, What lovely words about the sky. As kids, we used to love watching the clouds and imagining all sorts of wonderful things. We don’t experience many thunderstorms here – maybe the rare once or twice a year, thank God. The devastation they leave behind takes months to clear up.
Thank you for the wonderful comment – always love having you here!
I love the pigeon in silhouette and the sunsets. Beautimous.
Pamela, I don’t know why – but I thought you’d like the pigeon. 😀 I quite like it too. Thank you hugs to you!
The sight of rains is so welcome, Vidya:)
Rahul – after the three or four days of rain, that too, thanks to the weather elsewhere, we’ve returned to extremely warm weather. I think the temp is down after yesterday, though. Thank you for stopping by!
It sounds like you had a better week, making the most of the beauty around you. Have a great week.
Thank you, del king! Yes, and this week is looking good too! Notwithstanding the visits to the dentist! 🙂 Thank you – and wishing you a great week ahead too!
Lovely pictures. I am such a fan of beautiful sunsets! I love the way you find beauty in even the smallest and simplest things, Vidya. I’m glad to hear you made it successfully through your busy week. Enjoy this new week and your time with Vidur.
Hugs,
Terri
Thank you, dearest Terri – yep – love my terrace and all that it means to me. I am glad the week has successfully been wrapped up too! Looking forward to new things now. Love your support, as always! Hugs, Vidya
I love the photos of the sky…when we lived on the boat, I would look through the upper hatch and marvel at how the slightest change in the sky could alter the entire reflection (and yes, sky reflects to me in ways my heart can hear!).
Your energy feels lovely through your photos and words…and here I am with an opportunity to take a bath (a treat since we do not have a tub), yet I am online..an example of how I sometimes deflect the very thing I have asked for. So, thank you..I shall unplug and partake…
And, having just cut my hair, I can say, removing the layers has ushered in some lovely, long dormant spunk…
Love to you, dear friend!
The sky is such a dream/fantasy land that is ever changing – especially with our currently summery weather. I know you would understand this, Joy. When I took the photos, I was thinking of you and also how much more beautifully you would have expressed yourself 🙂
You’re looking just gorgeous with your new look! Love you, too, dear Joy!
Always love your pictures on Sunday (even though it’s Monday now!!).
😀 Thank you, Betsy, for joining me!
Love the scent of BASIL.
Love the lace curtains.
Love you.
Email me w/ your address, please. Xxx
I love the fragrance of basil too, Kim. Love to pop a couple of leaves in my mouth and feel the tangy taste. 🙂 And I love you too! I’ve emailed you! Hugs, Vidya
Beautiful photos, lovely one! And, here’s something for coincidence… I just cut 8 inches off of my hair. I’ll email you a terrible picture of me 🙂
Darling Rach – Your photo looks absolutely gorgoeus! And I am so happy you came by. Hugs to you! Now, i still haven’t worked up the guts to cut my hair. 😀
Wonderful photos!!
Thank you Nikky! Have a wonderful week ahead!
Beautiful post. I think you are right about those sunsets, they do speak if one listens. I am so glad you made time to relax and that the upcoming week will be a bit calmer. Peace to you and yours.
Thank you, Nita. 😀 It does feel good! Hugs to you!
Beautiful sunsets! I’m glad things are starting to settle down for you. And I loved picturing your pretty, green saree. What a wonderful photo tour!
😀 Emily, you’re so sweet. Yes, I remember my green saree – I just wish I had a photo of it! Thank you so much for being here.
Great photos as always Vidya. the sky looks majestic in the sunset photos!
Thank you, Vishnu! I love that I only have to look around and notice to be happy!
I love that you are so positive. One of my favourite things about you. It’s always a breathe of fresh air when I visit here. I hope that your week brings you much happiness xoxo
Thank you, Kim! I am so touched – and I love our connection! Hugs! My week is going great! 😀
That first shot of the clouds is magnificent.
Cut you hair! It is just hair. It will grow back.
Thank you, Claudya. Thing is – I am afraid of – what if it doesn’t? I am still working up the courage!
Beautiful photos! I love these glimpses into your life, like the garden at the dentist’s office. And your story about the curtains. My week is flying by–helping a friend this week recover from surgery, so I’ve gotten behind with blog reading.
🙂 Hope your friend gets well soon – she probably is fine by now 🙂 Thank you for coming by! Hugs!
I agree about the sun rays. They are always a sign for me that God is near.
Welcome, and thank you, Jodi. You expressed it perfectly! Thank you!
