This is a tribute to honor Tina Downey of #LifeisGood. We lost Tina on August 23, 2014 and she will be missed by all who knew her. I had the pleasure of interacting with her during the A to Z Challenge in 2013 and we visited each other’s blog. We were also part of the Tree of Life collaboration last year.
Tina loved sunflowers and today, we want to fill the internet with sunflowers in her memory.
For Tina, who now walks in fields of golden sunflowers and believed #LifeisGood
As I couldn’t grow one, here’s my fabric sunflower for Tina
And my sunflower candle
Here are more fabric sunflowers from my album
What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?
Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do!
Life a single sunbeam on a warm summer’s day, there is an exuberance and brilliance in a sunflower
Nothing can dim the light that shines within!
“I don’t think there’s anything on this planet that more trumpets life that the sunflower. For me that’s because of the reason behind its name. Not because it looks like the sun but because it follows the sun. During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky. A satellite dish for sunshine. Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that’s such an admirable thing. And such a lesson in life.” ~ Helen Mirren
