When I was young, we had the family tradition of displaying dolls during these nine days of Navratri in my grandmother’s house. Ah, what fun those days were. We would eager wait for the evening to visit the various homes that had invited us dressed in our best clothes. Pure silk pattu pavadais or full-skirts, wearing Jhimikis as earrings, jasmine in our hair and bangles tinkling on our wrists. Looking forward to the variety of sundals.
