“I gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I’m older”
Like I needed “Foreigner” to tell me that. But then, being reminded is also okay.
Wonder why people expect you to assume things as in take them for granted – and even say it a few times to reassure you – and then, when you actually do a minor assumption, get all heated up?
I’ve noticed this time and again on various occasions. Why is it that people often do not mean what they say? And why must I always be ‘understanding’ of everyone’s actions?
In these situations, I always realize how much more reliable my ‘extended’ family is (you know – the dhobi, milkman, fruitseller…). They always greet with a smile. Enquire about family members. And guess what, they actually remember in context what I might have told them. Its the simplest things that are the nicest, most of the time.
