Emotional baggage check

Carrying around emotional baggage can be stressful and tiring. Ask people who live in the past – they’ll know the pain.
I was reading something recently and was very impressed with what it said about painful memories.  It is always better to look back on these memories from the perspective of our soul, colored by love and meaning. In life, everything happens for a reason and there’s some learning involved there.  Perhaps an experience that we went through at a particular time in the past did not allow us to reach our potential due to fear, creating limiting beliefs.   However, we can get over this by doing the following:
  • Bring this past experience back to mind
  • Acknowledge the experience without being judgmental or blaming someone
  • Take responsibility for the experience and the result of this experience.
  • Recognize the meaning or lesson behind it
  • Imagine the experience again, with your new perspective
It is so very important to let go of painful incidents and memories. But if we do achieve it, we can be well on our path to healing ourselves.  We also see ourselves in a new light even as we let go of our limiting beliefs.

Read these very true and lovely words:

“What you bring forth out of yourself from the inside will save you. What you do not bring forth out of yourself from the inside will destroy you”

Gospel of Thomas
