I haven’t gone a-musing for a week or so. In fact I’ve been off the WWW radar, even out of orbit with routine life in general. My mother was admitted into hospital and underwent surgery on the 7th of January 2009. Now she’s back home ~ but still with the tubes coming out of her. I’ve got my hands (and sometimes other extremities) full with home, family, work. But am looking forward to getting back into the um….rut. Routine is such security sometimes. While I did panic once or twice during the last week spent in hospital – because I didn’t check mail 🙂 – I did sneakily catch up on my reading and finished a couple of books. I discovered also that I could eat less, go without sleep for four days and worst yet – have only half a cup of coffee in the morning!
Cheers!

All the best. More power to you guys and read. It helps you to keep ur cool!
And friends like you, also, Gopal. Thanks.
Sorry about your mother. I hope she is recovering. I laughed when you said you discovered you could survive on only half a cup of coffee – as if that were a huge disappointment – LOL!
Thanks, Margaret. You know…I’ve always found it funny that the very major things don’t pressurize me as much as that Cup Of Coffee does. You see – there’s a story (very short) behind this. My mom and I ceremoniously Sit Down (even on the busiest of mornings) and Sip Our Coffee from our own steel tumblers. While her tumbler has a capacity of about 200 ml, I consume around 400 ml. Yes I do. Our community (Tamil Iyers)is always teased about giving so much importance to filter coffee. Thus, having to make do with kind of dilute instant coffee from a teeny weeny disposable cup was sacrilege, mostly to my sensitivities. Just goes to show what a so-and-so I am, eh?
