If you are going nuts under a lot of pressure, and feel as though you are at the end of your tether, here’s an effective way to get some “time out!”
- Sit alone in a space and at a time when you are least likely to be interrupted
- Lie down or sit comfortably
- Close your eyes and feel yourself breathing, inhaling and exhaling smoothly and rhythmically
Now imagine a scene that pleases you – a tranquil afternoon on an empty beach, maybe; as you imagine the scene, place yourself in it – see and feel yourself lying on the warm sand, hear the ocean and feel the soft breeze touching your face and hair; spend some time in this space, while you continue to focus on your breathing; count to five and slowly open your eyes; remain sitting quietly for a couple of minutes before you continue with your activities.
