A positive start can set the tone for the rest of the day. If you crawl out of bed, worrying about the day ahead, you’re setting yourself up for misery; so start each day as you mean to go on – bright, enthusiastic, energised and full of joy.
Take action:
Ever see how a cat – after sleeping, stretches thoroughly before moving away from its sleeping spot? Or babies literally flexing when they wake up?
Do the same: stretch your arms up in the air, move your head from side to side or sit for a few minutes in the child pose – on your knees, toes touching, with your head on the mattress and your arms stretched forward (just don’t do this if you’re pregnant).
Get out of bed and get moving: do a few skips with a skipping rope or cycle on a stationary bike while you watch the morning news or whatever. Then take your time to enjoy breakfast.
