Then don’t scatter thorns!
This is the premise, more or less, of our entire moral code.
In other words, treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. As long as we follow this code, we should all be treated fairly well by others.
The reality is that people who smile a lot get treated in a friendly manner more often than people who frown. People who are busy with malicious gossip get spoken …well, I really don’t need to put that in so many words.
Look carefully at the garden you are growing around you. Are you scattering any thorns?
