My favorite is the bird in the midst of the green lawn. Nice.
Exquisite birdie photos! Thank you for sharing, Vidya! What kind of bird is the one in photo number 6? Gorgeous! Love your Sunday posts!

Beautiful photos, beautiful birds! I love how well you capture the texture of the feathers. Very cheerful as well!
I love the 6th one down – but they are all wonderful!!!
We must have had the same thought this week about bird watching. You captured some beautiful feathered creatures.
What beautiful birds! Is this a zoo? Are they all native to India?
Hi Terri – it is a night heron. Took these pictures at the Chennai Zoo. :-)It was very gorgeous – the texture of its feathers was quite breath-taking!
—I LOVED goint bird watching with you, Vidya.
Thank you for letting me tag along :)) They are so beautiful.
Do you have Cardinals there?
Xx Kiss Hug & Appreciation.
Amazing, Tara, because your blog is the first one I usually visit even before I do my Sunday post. Today I hadn’t. 🙂 Your pictures are beautiful, as always!
@Laurie – it was so soothing to just stand and stare at them. They just sat around as though they had not a care in the world. They probably didn’t 😀
Lovely birds. I wish I knew the names of all of them.
Such lovely birds. My favorite picture is the first one.
🙂 Unknown Mami – that’s one of my favorites too. I love the contrast.
Thank you, Rachel. 😉 And thank my camera.
Betsy, yes – these pictures are from the Chennai(Madras) zoo. Most of them are native to India, Vidur would know better. It was such a pleasure to visit.
Hi Kim – My pleasure! Yes, we have cardinals here – such pretty colorful little birds! We have several bird sanctuaries in India. I’ve only visited one, though.
Thanks, Renee, that heron was quite fascinating! It sat still for so long! I think I could have gotten a picture of its eyeball if I wished. 🙂
Hi Keetha! They’re mostly herons and ducks. And one cassowary. But specifically, my son knows the names of all these birds.
I’ve always enjoyed watching birds – great pictures!
🙂 Thanks qandlequeen! I like how they preen!
Beautiful birdies!
Thank you, Sheila!
