The Re-Awakening

by Vidya Sury May 3, 2012 25 comments
In my last post, I talked about how I am trying to manage my time and be more productive. I also mentioned a guided meditation product that I am using with outstanding success.

Today’s post, as promised, is about “The Re-Awakening Guided Meditation Program” followed by a wonderful interview with Angela Artemis, the co-creator of the product and the voice behind my peace. And. A. Giveaway!

The Re-Awakening

Some background here

To me, proper time management equals freedom from stress and time to do all the things I want to do.

Of late, I’ve realized that I get distracted too easily and this was causing me lots of stress. I have two jobs and my home to manage. On top of that, domestic pressure, a stream of bad news with the loss of loved family members and health issues.

While I thrive under pressure, and usually smile through the tears, this time it was too much for me. Unexpected deaths in the family are never easy – a cousin my age suddenly suffering a brain hemorrhage was rushed to hospital and passed away within the week. An uncle diagnosed with liver cancer passed away a few days after diagnosis. My own health issues with a skin rash freaked me out and refused to respond to treatment for months.

So why am I raving about The Re-Awakening?

I knew I HAD to get my mojo back or else. Or else what? I wouldn’t be happy. And I enjoy being happy. So rather than getting all worked up about things I couldn’t really influence or change, I decided I find a way to cope with them. As usual.

And fancy my delighted surprise when Angela emailed me to let me know about the launch of a brand new guided meditation product, along with Steven Aitchison! I thought, is the Universe showing me a sign? I knew the answer to that.

Like a puppy hungry for affection, I received the product and dropped everything I was doing. I got my headphones on, I said “ta-ta” to my husband and son who were off for a jog and happily settled down, in anticipation. Oh, and what an experience it was.

Have you had the feeling that something is “just right” or “perfect” when you “meet” it? I have. And this was one of them. As Angela’s voice flowed like honey into my ears, I cooled down. I calmed down. I was transported to a place of peace. I KNEW that “my Vidya is back” as my Mom would say. Most of all, I felt just like I used to feel when my Mom held me close when she sensed I was upset or worried about something.

The Re-Awakening was my Mom’s hug.

So no prizes for guessing I was hooked.

I was blessed with the right solution at the right time – when I needed it the most.

If you often feel stressed, all wound up, feel that something is blocking your potential but don’t know what it is, I recommend The Re-Awakening Guided Meditation Program, it works. C’mon! Be good to yourself!

The Re-Awakening

What an apt name! The Re-Awakening is a Guided Meditation product from Angela Artemis, the intuition guru and her business partner Steven Aitchison. Steve’s blog “Change your thoughts, to Change your life” is one of the most successful blogs online and he’s an amazing guy.

Now, let me introduce my dear friend, Angela Artemis.

Besides being a wonderfully warm human being who is always reaching out to help others, she is an Amazon best-selling author, an intuition coach, a spiritual medium and meditation instructor. Her career background is in financial planning, commercial and real estate lending and private banking.

On her blog, Powered By Intuition, which I’ve mentioned here earlier, Angela writes about using our intuition in every day life to make better choices and decisions to live up to our highest potential. She writes from the heart, sharing the lessons she learned from her own life in a very beautiful way.

I have been a big fan of Angela’s for more than a year now and never like to miss a post. I have benefited tremendously from her perceptions. I was thrilled when she shared my story in one of her posts.

And friends, now would be a good time to mention how much I appreciate the fact that in spite of being highly popular, Angela makes it a point to reply to each and every comment on her blog. She has my respect.

I could keep talking about Angela. But I know you’re waiting to hear her “voice”, her interview. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Here we go!

Welcome to Going A-Musing, dear Angela. I am so delighted and privileged to have you here today! Thank you so much for taking the time out to answer my questions.

Thank you, Vidya. It is good to be here!

Angela, I am so excited about The Re-Awakening. And I can’t wait to share your insights with my awesome readers!  May I request you to share the inspiration behind Powered By Intuition?

I started Powered by Intuition to share the lessons I learned in my own life journey. Through much trial and error I learned that life is so much better when you are guided by your intuition.

When I was growing up, my parents were quite strict and believed that they should make decisions for me. Not learning how to make my own decisions stifled my intuition. I wasn’t able to “trust” that I knew deep down inside what was best for me.

Consequently, I made all the wrong choices in life for years. I took the wrong major in college, went into the wrong career, married the wrong person and even ignored my intuition when it came to buying and selling real estate. I gave readings and could intuitively guide others but, not myself!

The result of all my wrong choices was that I was not living authentically. I felt as if I was an alien living someone else’s life…..it was awful. Nothing felt right because all the choices I made were not made by tapping into what my soul really wanted in this life but, instead what my “intellect” thought was right. There literally was no “soul” in my life.

When I decided that I was going to base every decision going forward in my life on my intuition my life changed dramatically for the better. I quit my job, went back to school, became a writer and generally began living the life of my dreams. The difference was night and day. I feel such joy every day – I sometimes have to pinch myself to believe that I am not dreaming and do have the life I’ve been dreaming of!

I never want anyone to go through what I did and that’s why I started Powered by Intuition. I want to help people learn how to live an intuitively inspired life!

“An intuitively inspired life” I like how that rings!. Your story highlights your courage. I’d say you’re amazingly successful, Angela.   Would you say that intuition development is an important aspect of personal growth?

When you live an intuitively inspired life you flow with the current of life rather than fight it. You attract things because you are where you’re meant to be.  When this happens, your talents and gifts blossom because you are living “on purpose.” And, when you live on purpose life is truly full of joy, miracles and abundance.

When you make the right decisions about your life’s path, you go with the flow. You find this path by listening to your intuition. So you no longer have to struggle to achieve your goals. Instead, you live an intuitively inspired life that steers you toward your greatest destiny.

That was beautifully expressed! I know you believe that everyone can be intuitive and can connect with intuition. What would you say to someone who can’t recall having intuition?

If you are happy, fairly successful and satisfied with your life then, you are hearing your intuition whether you know it or not. Frankly, if your life is going well there’s no need to develop your intuition. Intuition is your own internal guidance system. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.

But if you’re experiencing a series of problems – you are definitely not it touch. If you constantly struggle in life, you need to develop your intuition more than anyone and start listening to this wisdom.

The best way to do this is by getting quiet for a period of time each day and “listen.” Meditation is the best way to develop your intuition. People who don’t hear their intuition usually have two problems. They either don’t want to hear this guidance because they are afraid of their own internal dialogue or they have suffered from abuse that undermined their confidence and ability to trust that they know what’s best for themselves.

So are you saying meditation can help here?

Yes. Meditation addresses all three issues; fear of their own internal dialogue, insecurity about their ability to make the right decisions and hearing their intuition.

Please tell us, do you meditate? How has it impacted your life?

I’ve been practicing meditation for more than 25 years now. It has transformed me as a person and my life in general. I am calm, self-assured and confident.

Meditation helps tame your mind, yet be assertive in a positive way. And when that happens, we stay calm and focused and tend to take good decisions that impact us favorably. I find that I am happy and upbeat 99.99 per cent of the time!

Personally, I think developing a daily meditation practice is the single most important thing I have ever done for myself. Meditation is quite like taking vitamins for the soul and it develops the attitude that things will always work out fine. They do. A calm mind sees more clearly. It is a fact that we manufacture most of our drama in life. Cut the drama – and life instantly becomes happier.

Meditation develops serenity. It helps you just “be” without struggling. After you meditate for a while, you learn to let go of the struggle that keeps you from being happy.  You connect to your soul. You connect to your intuition.  When you are connected to your intuition, your life flows with grace and ease. Meditation is the key ingredient to enhancing your intuitive abilities. The longer you have been meditating, the more intuitive you become.

Wow. 25 years! So now we know the secret of your strength! And I love the phrase “vitamins for the soul”. Angela, are there specific health benefits of meditation?

Meditation relaxes you. When you relax, your heart rate and blood pressure stabilize.  When you are stressed your heart has to work much harder due to all the hormones that are released when we are under pressure. Meditation relieves stress. As you continue to practice meditation, that feeling of calm and relaxation you develop will stay with you throughout the day. And oh, by reducing stress, you also slow down the aging process. So meditation is a great way to look younger!

You’ve given us some fantastic reasons to meditate. No wonder my Mom always looked decades younger than she was. People actually asked if I was the older sister.  What inspired you to launch The Re-Awakening?

We wanted to help others get the benefits of meditation in the easiest and fastest way possible.
Stress is huge problem in our lives today. Never before have we humans been so “busy” all the time. Our bodies and minds weren’t designed for this kind of continual stress. We need to learn how to relax because over time, unchecked stress can seriously harm you.

Most people don’t meditate for two reasons: They don’t know where to start because there’s so many different types of meditation. Or, they say they don’t have time. We addressed both of these factors in this “plug and play” program that brings you the benefits of meditation and goal manifesting in 15 minutes a day.

Please tell our readers about The Re-Awakening Guided Meditation System, Angela.

The Re-Awakening Meditation System is a group of specially worded guided meditations that take you into a very deep state of relaxation.

There are 10 meditations – recorded by Steve Aitchison and by me so you have your choice of listening to a male voice or a female voice.

The ten meditations each address different areas of life from relaxation for stress control (we have a lower your heart rate challenge – listen to this meditation for free and we guarantee your heart rate will drop 20%!), to meditations to cleanse you of negative thought patterns, heal relationships, manifest your intentions and enhance your intuition.

The program includes three books and a workbook. The books are:

The Power of Silence,” which is about how we need to unplug and give our minds a reprieve from constant overuse in order to restore balance in our lives.
“The Miracle of The Heart,” which is about getting in touch with our soul and oneness with all life.
Guided Meditation,” which is a book about the reasons we benefit from meditation, learning to meditate and how to do creative visualization.
The Guided Meditation Workbook,” consists of exercises that ties all three books together and binds the entire program with the daily steps of how to use the meditations.

The program comes with detailed instructions as to which meditations to listen to and the books read each day. By day 16 you will have completed the program and will feel like a new person.

At the end of the program you will also find a surprise bonus meditation along with four other fabulous bonuses all part of the overall theme of making your life hugely successful!

The program is designed to be easy, fast and fun and what I call, “plug and play.” You just pop on your headphones and listen to one recording each day.

In less than 15 minutes a day you’ll receive all the benefits of a longer meditation. If you’re a busy person with little or no spare time to relax than The Re-Awakening is for you.

Meditation puts you in the flow of life where you flow with the current instead of fighting against it. It’s a miraculous way to live.

When you are relaxed your whole body returns to a normal state of balance. When your body’s systems are in a state of balance it can heal itself of many ailments. The ultimate benefit of meditation is that it can help maintain and restore you to health.

There’s nothing like a drug-free way to become healthy, is there? I love it. But why guided meditation, Angela? How is that special?

Guided meditation works by engaging the mind. When the mind is engaged in listening or “visualizing,” you stop thinking. The secret of meditation is to stop thinking. When the mind is constantly going you don’t relax.

The reason why we need to meditate today more than ever is because our minds are going 24/7. We are always plugged into something whether it is our phone, computer, tablet, television of radio. We never give our minds a rest. This is very stressful.

When we calm our minds down our entire lives calm down. Panicked and hectic thinking creates the same sort of circumstances in your life.

Meditation is the restful state your mind requires to create inner peace and equilibrium. As above so below – as within so without. When you’re at peace on the inside your life circumstances will mirror back that peace.

Angela, what is your message for people who are too busy to meditate?

It’s the old adage of “What came first, the chicken or the egg?” If you’re too busy to meditate you are the one who needs it the most!! The stress of a busy life must be balanced with some powerful form of relaxation to stave off the negative effects on your health.

You owe it to yourself, you heart and your loved ones to do this so that you are around for a long, long time. The Re-Awakening was developed for just such a busy person. Most of the meditations are less then 11 minutes. Now, who can’t find 11 minutes to benefit their health and calm down?

Indeed. I think investing 11 minutes is the easiest thing to do.  Do you have tips for someone who is new to meditation?

Using a guided meditation alleviates two of the biggest stumbling blocks for new meditators. You don’t have to worry about what “meditation” to learn.

You don’t have to fear your mind will wander. Once you know that all you have to do is get your headphones on and listen – you can relax and allow the guided meditation to do the “heavy lifting” for you. Just lie back and reap the benefits.

Is the Re-Awakening just for beginners? Can it help those who already practice meditation?

I use it and I’m an advanced meditator. The program is for beginners and advanced meditators. The program is a full system and includes an entire book on how to use meditation to manifest your goals and desires so, that’s certainly for both beginners and longtime meditators.

One last question, Angela. With the “Re-awakening” program, you and Steven offer a bonus that has binaural beats both audio and video, what are these? How do people use them?

Binaural beats are soo cool! They synchronize the brain’s hemispheres so that you experience certain things such as feeling very relaxed, being able to go to sleep easily and deeply, increase clarity and creativity, sustain energy levels and even enhance intuition. This is a great achievement of modern science. We can create the results we want by using certain sound frequencies in each ear that stimulate the brain hemispheres. It’s awesome you have to try it!

The video binaural beats you use throughout the day to refresh and re-energize. You can take a 5 minute break in front of your computer and watch this video with headphones on. Your mind is stimulated by the sound frequencies and the colors and shapes you see on your computer screen.

The audio ones you use like a meditation. You can listen while lying down on your bed or while reading or taking a walk. These are the ones that you can use for to achieve the different results I mentioned earlier.

Wow! That does sound cool. It doesn’t get easier than this, right?  Thank you so much, Angela, for being here with us today. Hugs!

As I was reading this, I was thinking how glad I am that I have a meditation practice, and at the same time I see that it could be so much better. This sounds like a wonderful program, and I have respected Angela and Steve for a long time, so anyone who took the course would be in good hands. Great interview, and I enjoyed your enthusiastic review.

Indeed, Galen. My tried quite hard to get me to practice it too – but as I said I’d doze off. Meditation is wonderful – for children and adults. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Wonderful interview Vidya & Angela!I was completely lost in reading all of it :)Yes Vidya, we all have our down moments and more-so if we are working on writing projects, and have a house to manage, and to top it all if there are family emergencies, deaths, or our own health issues – where do we ever find the peaceful time to connect with our inner-selves, which is so-so important. And that does leave us stressed out, and it’s an open invitation for more health problems in our lives. I have been to Angela’s blog long back, though somehow lost touch, but loved this interview and am glad I reconnect with her once again here. :)Steven and she have indeed done an awesome job of getting out this much needed program that’s sure to benefit many, and I can see your write up within it too and how it’s making a wonderful change in your life. :)To be very honest, I practice Transcendental Meditation, as I learnt it long back from a teacher, because my Dad was into it as well. So, I know it works wonders for him and how it’s cured his BP as well as other ailments. But yes, I have not been very regular with it, which I intend doing now, more so after reading this wonderful post.I would like to ask though how is it different from TM (Transcendental Meditation) or perhaps any other meditation that some people may be doing. Thanks for sharing and a wonderful reminder to get started once again. 🙂

You’re right, Harleena. It is difficult to stretch that 24-hour day with all that we intend to accomplish. 🙂 And the foundation for staying calm is to adopt some kind of practice that will help us stay calm. I am glad you practice transcendental meditation – i remember wanting to do it years ago – but somehow, it didn’t happen because each time the “mentor” fixed up a time – something or other prevented it from actually materializing and I gave up. I use a variety of activities to relax me – but the whole point behind meditation is not to have our adrenalin up. 🙂 The point is to reach a state of mind where everything looks do-able. I enjoy a natural state of mind that thinks that – yet even I get overwhelmed at times. So The Re-Awakening is a big gift that I am going to always treasure.

As I understand it, guided meditation literally leads you by the hand without expecting you to do anything other than use the process itself to relax and calm the mind. With most other types of meditation, one has to make the effort to reach that state on one’s own. Also, guided meditation requires an investment of 15 minutes, twice a day for a complete mental makeover.

I am sure Angela will have a better response to this.

Harleena, I very much appreciate your visit here and your comment. Love and hugs, Vidya

Hi Vidya. Another stellar post and interview. While I was reading this, thoughts of my own meditation practice surfaced and I realized I have actually skipped meditation for over a couple weeks now. I can’t really afford a meditation package at this time, but I am most certainly going to re-instate my own practices. Meditation is a lovely, peaceful way to re-energize and wipe your stress slate clean, if only for a short time. I am a true believer in the power of meditation. Again, great interview! Thank you Vidya and Angela!
