Fun Raising

What a week it has been! Leading up to the April A to Z Challenge, 373 of us published the great and powerful A to Z Challenge theme reveal post on March 21.

You have time to sign up for the A to Z Challenge until March 21, and you have two days to sign up for the theme reveal post! Do it now!)

It was fantastic reading so many creatively focused posts and I felt as though I’d be happy spending the rest of my life hopping from blog to blog! In my dreams! Because you see, I have miles to go before I can think of sleeping!

That did not stop me from having a great time today at the Indiblogger Kotak Exclusive Launch Party meet at The Biere Club today! This blogger meet happened simultaneously in three cities – Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi.

The great thing about these meets is meeting friends besides having a pretty good time. Today’s meet had lunch planned….drool!

I was eager to meet Vaisakh Venugopal, Meena Menon and Pheno Menon and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Lots of laughter.

Team activities.

Fun commentary by the hosts.

Serious talk by the Team from Kotak and live Q & A by well known author Chetan Bhagat – all about banking being social! Kotak Mahindra Bank in association with IndiBlogger brought us an exclusive experience on JIFI, a whole new way of banking through a unique tri-city launch event. Yes. #JiFiIsHere!

We had a good time.

The time for the meet was very convenient, scheduled from 12 noon to 5 pm. And of course, we got our mandatory Indiblogger tshirt in my favorite color – black.

Here’s a glimpse of the food served. Click to see the photos! Then click anywhere on your screen to return to this post.

In other news, I am embracing summer. My son finished his 11th grade exams. Has one week off and starts school on April 1. He’s putting his one week off to good use by being sick, poor chap! Allergies in the air, and the intense heat are good breeding grounds for infections and he succumbed. We’re counting our blessings, because he was well during the exams.

These guys have been keeping us company – they’ve not been keeping pace with us though *wink* but they have an advantage. They can fly. Sigh!

The painting of our building is in full swing…and here is one of our heroes on his precarious swing – posing for me!

As always, nothing beats the beauty of our summer sky.

How lovely it must be to fly like this!

And one day, we saw a flock of birds – migratory, I am sure. i was so stunned to see them that before I could get over fumbling with my phone and aiming at them, they had gone well past my head! Still – I have the privilege of seeing them!

And I’ve been good and eating my salad.

That’s all for now, folks. I am grateful for everything I am blessed with.

You? What fun thing did you do last week?

No summer heat here (calling for snow on Tuesday). I’d say I’m jealous but I’d probably be complaining if it were really hot πŸ™‚ Your sky is beautiful! Hope the kiddo feels better soon. That’s no way to spend break!

Beautiful pictures, Vidya of the sky, birds and yes, of the salad too πŸ™‚ I am sure you can’t wait to see the freshly painted look of your apartment building. There is something so clean about that look…I am hoping we can get our house painted too this summer. Lets see, it is a big job for lazy folks like us πŸ™‚

Glad you had a great time at the Indiblogger meet.

The sad thing about the ‘heroes on their precarious swings’ is they risk their lives for a pittance. Many years back, a European visitor told me that, in his country, people who did such risky work (or ‘dirty’ work like cleaning sewerage lines) were very highly paid.

So glad you met some of the sweetest folk in the Indian blogging scene – in my opinion.
Love the pictures – the one with the flock of birds is a winner!
