When you hug someone or receive a hug, your health improves.
When you’re feeling gloomy and someone comes up to you to give you a hug, it could really lift your spirits. But there is scientific proof that endorses the health benefits of hugging.
Hugging triggers the release of the hormone oxytocin, which does the following:
- lowers stress and anxiety levels
- reduces your blood pressure
- boosts your immune system
- improves your tolerance for pain
- actually makes wounds heal faster
So, did you hug someone today, or receive a hug? Nothing equals the warm-cozy-happy feeling of holding someone tight against you and savoring the goodness, right? Ever held a baby close to you and heard it gurgle in delight? Yes! Age and gender, no bar!
