Last week was quite hectic. You see, we were all worked up about Vidur’s forthcoming solo performance at his music school on 7th Sept 2008 and the occasion was “Smriti Diwas” honoring Pt V D Paluskar and Pt Bhatkande – icons in Hindustani vocal music. (Vidur learns Hindustani vocal music).
There were events at school, loads of school work, guests at home – and all of it very enjoyable.
And so dawned 7th Sept 2008, bright and clear. Eagerly we set out at 8 am – the program was scheduled to start at 9.30 am. Prominent figures in music were invited and we had a fantastic treat of a Sunday morning – enjoying all the performances. My favorite bhajans “thumak chalata ramchandra” and “sri rama chandra krupaalu bhajamana” were a lovely surprise, apart from all the other songs rendered wonderfully.
Here I am sharing a part of Vidur’s solo song – it is in raag Brindavani Saarang. It is an amateurish video – nevertheless, I am a proud momma.
