What A Break!

ten things about me unconditional love

I know Iโ€™ve talked about taking a break but the one that was thrust on me was a bit scary. Here is what happened. I slept on Saturday night. Like I do most nights.ย  I set my alarm for 6 am, since it was Sunday the next day and I could afford to sleep a half hour extra. Expect, thatโ€™s not what happened. I was up at 5 am. Then got back into bed, drained, literally.

It was the beginning of what promised to be a long day of trips to the loo and bouts of puking in alternation, because of food poisoning. So Sunday practically did not exist for me. All I know is my folks were super-kind, saying loving things while I simply slept off the day. I do remember doses of liquids in between.

I am well enough to sit up today although I feel rather weak at the knees. Awful weekend, I tell you. The funny thing is all those scraps of dreams that go through the head with the intermittent sleep, in a semi-conscious kind of state.

So here we go with some photos. I shot these along the road I live in. This road has everything. The cold weather has set in and the guys are here with nice shoes, warm clothes and fruits that are abundant during this time.

This is part of the decor for an event. A fountain.

May the coming week be a wonderful one!

Off to Unknown Mamiโ€™s now to see what the others on this trip are up to! I am always thankful the linky is open beyond Sunday, because I can never bear to miss a Sunday In My City tour!

Did you have a good weekend?

Sorry to hear that you were ill. Food poisoning is not fun. I know this from my own experiences.

I live north of you in Tennessee. The weather a rather soggy here right now. I am hoping it gets cold enough for a little snow. Being originally from Colorado, I miss it a little.

girl these pics could have been taken along the drive from brooklyn to queens. they looked so familiar to me. reminds me when i use to head out with friends to queens to shop in little guyana (actually Jamaica queens)along with similar carts, they’d have a stand selling fresh cane juice and coconuts with straws in them. ๐Ÿ˜€ you would love little guyana. it’s like your market place with all the shops selling saris and bangles and the little knick knacks and religous items but with the west indian twist. i havent been there in years since moving north, but when i go back, ill take pics for u to see. feel better sis. hugs!

Hope you are already feeling better. It’s amazing how you can still publish a post even when you should be resting.

This is definitely an improved design of your blog. It’s nothing like having a makeover!

Love and hugs,
Evelyn

Happy to hear that you are better now, Vidya! I have suffered from food poisoning and know how draining it can be. Hugs to you and the family for taking care of you. You will need some more time to get your strength back so do take it easy. Bangalore is having such erratic weather these days. Take care.

I pray you’ve gotten over the bout by now darling Vidya. Here we are often advised to drink 100plus (carbonated isotonic drink) to revive energy. Want to try this?

Great photos of your people, community, lovely!

Hope you’re feeling better! I’ve had my fair share of food poisoning (spending several years living in the 3rd world) and I know how awful it is.

I’m not sure in which city you live and I know cities are huge but if you’re in or near Mumbai I thought you might find this interesting. A fellow former Peace Corps voluteer led this project: http://shinypieces.blogspot.com/2012/12/lets-hear-it-for-team.html
