It is amazing how many things are related to the number 7. It has significance in spirituality, science and technology, religion, symbolism, the list is endless.
So anyway, I thought, what better way to begin than cherish those 7 powerful words that can help us live a meaningful life! Here they are:
7 powerful words to live by
Live
We have but one life (unless you are a cat and believe you have nine lives.) Each new day is a gift. Use it well, for you cannot turn the clock back. Tinkering with the minute and hour hands does not count. Live mindfully, enjoy the present moment.
The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives Albert Schweitzer
Take one day at a time. Enjoy life.
Love
“Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness”-Paul in The Holy Bible, I Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is considered the most basic emotion that human awareness can feel; therefore, it is the closest to the source of life.” Deepak Chopra in Ageless Body, Timeless Mind
Enough said.
Think
Your actions are results of your thoughts. Your thinking can make or unmake your dreams or your goals.
Learn
Thinking and learning naturally go hand in hand as we move forward from thinking to learning. Learn to make use of opportunities that come your way. You know the old adage: 90 per cent of success begins by just showing up!
Give
The joy of giving enhances your happiness. How does it feel when you think that you’ve contributed to someone else’s happiness?
Laugh
Besides increasing serotonin in your brain, helping you get rid of depression and other mental issues, laughter is the best medicine. And remember to laugh at yourself at least once a day! To quote from one of my own earlier posts:
Go ahead, create a “happy-demic”, gang up for a “joy cocktail!”
Start with these 7 things
- Watch funny movies / cartoons
- Have fun with your pet
- Share jokes
- Tickle each other
- Listen to a baby laugh – nothing as delightful!
- Smile
- Count your blessings
Be Happy
Happiness is a choice. So choose to be happy. And remember, “let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier”
Now that we have 7 powerful words to live by, let me share some random things related to the theme “7”
There are seven wonders of the world. I’ve visited one, the Taj Mahal.
There are seven colors in the rainbow. Here’s a lovely rainbow at Niagara Falls that stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t take my eyes off it! I mean, there it was, beckoning to me, as if asking me to touch it!
There are seven days in a week.
My favorite day is Sunday for seven reasons:
1. my family is at home and I love the flurry of activity in the morning until lunch time,
2. lunch together, followed by a long cozy afternoon where we each enjoy our space for a couple of hours
3. tea together and some TV or music
4. walk on our lovely terrace or at the lake in the evening
5. time together talking about the week ahead and sharing anecdotes
6. Dinner together
7. Prayer together
I just realized I will be seven times seven for exactly 27 more days!
Questions for you:
What do you think of when you think “7”
Which of the 7 powerful words is your favorite?
I am also linking up with the gorgeous Unknown Mami, who hosts Sundays in my City, my favorite meme. We enjoy traveling the world together.

As you said, “Happiness is a choice. So choose to be happy.” To that, may I add: “Learn to be happy.”

Hi Vidya,
You’ve got a fab set of words to live by.And they are the spice of life.
However i want to add another one. While i know i’m stepping out of the circle of your words in the post,i’m pretty sure you will appreciate the word-SMILE.(Though you have placed it under happiness)
i have asoft corner for the humble SMILE and so want to place it a notch higher…. 🙂
Yes a smile is a MUST HAVE.
Usually it is a given that for muscular growth the more muscles you employ the better .
Frowning involves more muscles than smiling but those fewer muscles in a smile only help to reduce your stress .Whereas the larger number of frown muscles lend themselves to increased psychological disturbances.
Smiles bring people together ,increase attraction, bring warmth to the aura of the person.Smiling is easy when you comprehend the importance of this easy muscular activity.Life is meant to be simple, and a smile certainly goes a long way in un complicating a situation.
MY GENEROSITY IS IN MY SMILE
So whenever you can-smile.If you cant, then join others in smiling

Happiness is definitely a choice. I know people who always choose to see problems in order to anticipate trouble so it will not take them unaware. I see that it only makes them tense and unhappy. Yes, Happiness is a very power filled word!

Hi Vidya
Great list of 7. I think my favorite is “happy” because if you have that everything else falls into place and life becomes a joy. Hard to always be happy, but if we try to make it front and center things will always feel better no matter what is going on around us.
Have a great week.

You have such a brilliant mind to be able to look at a word like 7 in all these different ways! One life? Do you not believe in reincarnation? We still need to make the best of this one though or who knows how we will end up!

I love the delicate flower for Live. Beautiful words represented with beautiful pictures.
🙂
Traci
Traci, I went for a walk in the morning and under a tree’s shade in the morning sun, saw the ground was a carpet of these flowers. So I just picked one up and clicked a pic. As I write this, I can still smell the gentle fragrance of these flowers filling the air. 🙂 Thank you!
