Dear Vidur,
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from life, it is being consistent, to keep going. To persevere. To be persistent. Especially during difficult times. As we go through life, disappointments are inevitable. But it is important to remember that so are victories!
“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”
I know you are preparing relentlessly for the various entrance exams you’ll be writing over the next three months. I also know that the one that just went by was far tougher than expected. Approach everything you do with confidence and do your best. There will be times when life may not go as planned. There will be a gap between our expectations and results. It is during these times that you must keep going. When faced with tough times, rather than wonder “Why me?” think “How can I make today wonderful in spite of what’s going on in my life right now?”. While you are at it, don’t forget to give thanks for what you have.
Truth is, success comes when you show long-term commitment. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Although I must say that you might need to step it up at times.
“Stubbornly persist, and you will find that the limits of your stubbornness go well beyond the stubbornness of your limits,” Robert Brault
Perseverance will take you closer to your hopes, your dreams, your goals and your visions. The tougher your goals, the harder you must keep going. There will be obstacles on the way. Believe me, you’ll also face envy. Just make sure you steer clear of the nay-sayers who try to keep you from going that extra mile. Instead, surround yourself with people who encourage you and motivate you.
Most of all, be kind to yourself. This will help you stay focused and stay on track. You know what they say – as the wind changes, you must keep adjusting your sails.
As you keep going,
- Be optimistic
- Stay focused
- Be patient
- Be strong
- Pace yourself
Your time will come!
“If we are facing in the right direction, all we have to do is keep on walking.” – Buddhist Saying
Here’s a beautiful quote by Ayn Rand from your Grandma’s diary
“Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not quite, the not yet, the not at all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.”- Ayn Rand
Remember that song from the Walt Disney movie, Hercules, whose lyrics go “I have often dreamed of a far off place, where a hero’s welcome will be waiting for me … it may take a lifetime, but somehow I’ll see it through…I’ll stay on track and when I go the distance my journey is complete.”
Yes, keep going, no matter what. We’re here to cheer you on!
Love and Hugs,
Blessed to be your Mom

Reminds me of two pieces of wrok – 1. Jo dhi tor dak shune keu na ashe tobe ekla cholo re.(Rabindranath Tagore) 2. Veer tum badhe chalo, dheer tum badhe chalo. (Dwarka Prasad Maheshwari)3. Never say never (by Justin Bieber). I love reading these letters of yours.

I will take this advice to heart as a writer. Beautiful words, and they are an excellent way to combat those jealous folks who try to derail us.

Thank you Darla. I confess that writing these posts for my son are self-motivating too! Nothing like being pulled down – and the worst thing is when it is from people who barely know us! Hugs!
