You Are Not Everyone’s Cup Of Tea
The world is filled with people who, no matter what you do, no matter what you try, will simply not like you.
But the world is also filled with those who will love you fiercely.
The ones who love you they are Your People.
Don’t waste your finite time and heart trying to convince the people who aren’t your people that you have value.
They will miss it completely. They won’t buy what you are selling.
Don’t try to convince them to walk your path with you because you will only waste your time and your emotional good health.
You are not for them and they are not for you.
You are not their cup of tea and they are not yours.
Politely wave them along and you move away as well.
Seek to share your path with those who recognize and appreciate your gifts, who you are.
Be who you are.
You are not everyone’s cup of tea and that is absolutely OK.
Go ahead and substitute the word “tea” for “coffee”. Still works! ♥

I am I
You are you
I do my thing
You yours
I am not here to live up to you expectations
Nor you mine
But if by chance we meet
It would be fine
Well said!
Needed to hear this today. Thanks, Vidya.

Thank you so much Lisa! Feels wonderful to see your comment.
Aid be 10 ft under for all the people who didn’t and don’t like me. I am who I am and I can’t wast my effort on people who don’t care for me. I would much rather give all I can to the people I care for and vice versa
Oh I needed this. Very often I end up spending more time on such people – people who aren’t my cup of tea and vice versa. Yet I worry about them and think about them and even try to explain and justify myself. That’s a whole lot of energy wasted.

Oh I understand, Tulika! It is only natural–and human–to focus on the good side of someone even when they’ve moved on. I think we all do it. It is just that some people move on faster than others.
Hugs!
How very true! Not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. <3

You were right, I loved this. Just like how I love everything about you 🙂
You know, I have wondered for years if I was so weird because my thoughts and choices were very different from that of others. Then, I realized that I was a really strong black coffee in the world of pale milky ones. I learnt to embrace myself as I am then 🙂
Love you!

🙂 This is one of my favorite posts — a BFF sent it to me when I was feeling particularly low years ago. I’ve learned that pale milky is just fine–just not in my orbit.
Glad to have the really strong black on my side. So glad you liked this post’s wisdom, too! Sadly, today’s world is all about fitting in.
