Quotes, especially inspiring quotes are a great source of encouragement for me. I don’t mind admitting that I am a quote-junkie and enjoy reading them. When I was a little girl, my Mom would make little greeting cards for me whenever I needed a little push and write an inspiring quote in it. So it became a habit over time and before I knew it, I started collecting them.
I can reel off one for every occasion and my folks at home, I suspect, are highly amused with this habit of mine. Naturally, there are favorites. So even as I was trying to compile a nice bunch for today’s post, I was looking for images and came across the one you’re looking at, below – and thought it was just perfect. What better than inspiring quotes from A to Z for Day 17 of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge?

I am sure we could all do with a good dose of encouragement every once in a while to give our flagging energy levels a boost. So here we go..with some tried and tested…

I enjoy inspiring quotes. Some of my favourites (not in any particular order):

“Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.” – Dale Carnegie
🙂 A wonderful list, Pro! I love them all! Sometimes I think I can read quotes all day long (and sometimes I come pretty close to it!)
Thank you so much!
Great collection of quotes here. I like the one by William James very much – the art of being wise…
I am also quite fond of quotes because I find so much wisdom is packed in these little sentences. But then I also feel like knowing more about the quote – like its context and the larger backdrop against which this particular thought was first formulated/uttered/written. It can be an interesting line of inquiry, I think 🙂 Thanks for sharing this dose of inspiration today.
One of the assignments I had during summer vacation when I was in school was to dig deeper into the origin of quotes, Beloo! Loved that exercise! And often, the information would be quite surprising and not what we expected at all! And there was no internet!
Thank you, Beloo!
You know I’m a quote hoarder! This is so creative! Printing it off – of course! 😉
I fell in love with it, Corinne! The wonderful thing is – I love every quote in the list! 🙂

“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it turned into a butterfly.”
🙂
Great selection of quotes, Vidya. Well done.
I’ve got a particular predilection for the witticisms of Oscar Wilde, some of which I list below. Enjoy.
I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.
There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
Work is the curse of the drinking classes.
All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That’s his.
